Download Hipo, choose English in the app and start with your route. You can check the fare before signing up. When you are ready to request a taxi, sign in and complete the verification shown in the app.

Hipo is available on Google Play and the App Store. Rides depend on available drivers near your pickup and acceptance of your request.

Choose a pickup and destination

Enter both addresses and check their map pins. A hotel name or your phone’s GPS location might not identify the entrance where you are waiting. Choose a place where the car can stop and make sure the route is the one you intend to take.

You can lower the trip summary panel to see more of the map before requesting. If you need to start again, use the close control before sending your request.

Check the fare and send the request

Review the fare, any applicable offer, stops and payment method. Your account and a verified phone number are required to request a ride. Follow the verification steps on screen.

Wait for a driver to accept. A quote or a request that is still searching does not mean a car has been assigned. Availability depends on drivers near your pickup.

Find the right car

After acceptance, Hipo shows the driver, vehicle and number plate. Use the in-app trip chat to explain your meeting point. Phone contact becomes available when the driver is near the pickup, according to the trip’s state.

Keep internet access on for map and trip updates. Before getting in, match the vehicle and number plate to the app.

Share, arrive and pay

During an active trip, send its sharing link to someone you trust. They can open it in their browser without an account or the Hipo app. Live updates depend on the phone’s GPS and internet connection.

Pay the driver at the end using the selected method: cash, or a POS terminal if offered by the driver. Hipo does not process card payments inside the app. You can rate the completed trip and contact support if you need help.

Do I need an Albanian app-store account?

Hipo can be downloaded outside Albania too. Use the Google Play or App Store button on our download page and check availability for your device. The taxi service is for journeys in Albania.

Can the person following my trip see my other journeys?

The sharing link is for the trip you choose to share, not your account history. Send it only to people you want to follow that journey.
